RISSLER, John Tipton

Source: Greencastle Herald, Greencastle, Putnam County, 13 August 1915

The death of John T. Rissler, age 90 years, a retired farmer, who for many years lived on his farm in Washington township in Putnam county, occurred Thursday evening at near 7 o'clock at his home in Harmony.  Heart disease was the cause of his death.  Mr. Rissler had been ill health for many months.  The funeral will be Sunday morning at 11 o'clock at the Croys' Creek Church.

Mr. Rissler was one of the prominent farmers in Washington township during his residence in this county.  After retiring he removed to Harmony to make that his home.

Beside his widow he leaves nine children.  Frank Rissler, a Washington township farmer, Dr. Ross Rissler of Indianapolis, and William Rissler, Bert Rissler, Ralph Rissler and Walter Rissler all of Clay county are the sons.  Mrs. Frank Rightsell of this county, Mrs. Conrad Dutell of Clay county, and Mrs. Ross Finley of Harmony are the daughters.

MLB note:  If he was born Jan 18, 1837 and died 12 Aug 1915, he was not 90, more like 78, right?  This obit was not really correct, I guess, as far as his age.
Note from Mary Lou,  his birth and deat
h do not make him age 90.
